Reasonably Priced Hotels

for my opinion.....

I would choose the Maison Gautreaux as they are very nice and I always stay there. All of the rooms are air conditioned and have a private bath with daily maid service. Each has a security safe box in the room for free and there is 24 hour on site security. Very nice people who run it and you will be pleasantly surprised. There is a rooftop jacuzzi, but they do not offer any onsite dining. Directly accross the street is a nice place to eat and drink called Charley Steak House. You will more than a bargain if you choose the Maision. Good Luck!

Hotel Mercure if your new to the city around $54.

Residence Venezia on Independencia 809-682-5108 is good.

Also El Senorial is a good place run by a Swiss gentleman. They also have an excellent Swiss restaurant at reasonable prices there. I do not know the name of the street, but it is the street where the large statue of the Needle is on the Malecon. Just turn inland and it is on the left.

Both of these are in your range.
