Are stores open on Sunday in Santo Domingo?

Can anyone tell me if stores that sell furniture and hardware are open on Sundays? Or, is everybody closed on Sunday?

If there were 8 days in the week the stores would be open..They need every Peso they can reap in.!!! If they are closed just ask the nearest open store and they will call them for a small comission from the store who sells to you.!!

This is true for the smaller stores... but, what about the bigger companies like Ferreteria Americana, Iluma, etc.?

Ferreteria Americana is definitely open on Sundays. Not sure about Ilumel.
