Hey, this is the tropics.
We are warm, hot, warm. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes, if you live in the south, it blows-hard.
But for those of us on the North Coast, in the Cibao Valley, or in the San Juan Valley, it is just the tropics.
Here's the deal. My beach house is over 50 years old, It is on the beach. In 50 years no storms have bothered it. Get it?
Now if you are going to Punta Cana, Bavaro or the South Coast, maybe, just maybe you will get a stormy moment or two. But nowadays everything is built to resist storms and high winds.
Historically (hysterically, too) the biggest storms come in late August and September.
This past year saw two "out of season" Tropical Storms, Noel and Olga, that did a lot of damage.
