Oasis Hamaca Update?

I'll be leaving in a few days for the Oasis Hamaca. I would like to hear from anyone that has been there recently (past two weeks or so), to get an update on construction of the beachside pool and any other tidbits of traveler information that might make the holiday a success. Thank you.

Very old link? The last reply is dated 2/11/2008 and the OP is dated 1/31/2008.

OK , let's see what happened new from the very old :paranoid: ... 5 days ago post ... The new pool is done ... looks like an oasis on the beach and will be open with the inauguration ceremony ( free drinks AI :bunny:) at 4 p.m. this afternoon ... Is this news fresh enough ? Casino is done already , they finished the outside ''Las Vegas'' style entrance . New parking is almost done as well .. That's it ... nothing new apart of the mentioned in the very old thread http://www.dr1.com/forums/trip-reports/71383-hamaca-construction.html :classic:

Wow Steve - thanks for sharing those great photos of the Hamaca - we're going next month and they've done so much since last year!

What are those square structures on the beach in front of where the new pool is? I sort of remember that there were palapas there before.

Where is the lobby bar? I know - in the lobby. But is it in the same location in front of where the stores are? The last time we were there, a few of the stores were vacant - are they occupied now?

The new bars look great too - I'm so excited now - can't wait to see what everything looks like in person.

The Lobby Bar remains with the same name ''Baccarat'' but was moved to the other side of the lobby where the bank and representatives were before . The casino became bigger taking the space of the old location of the bar . Most of the shops are there ( they opened an outside entrance to the casino breaking one of the shops ) but the place in front of the shops looks very different now ...

Oh, OK, now I can see from your picture where the casino was extended to - just a little walkway now in front of the stores. I used to like going down to that little coffee place across from the stores in the afternoon - looks like that's gone now.

Is the area (just beyond the reception area) where you can book sidetrips still there? When we were there last year it was located just before where the cashier was where you can change money.

Steve, thanks again for all the info. Hamaca and Boca Chica often get a bad review on the forums, but we love it.
