Formerly named Hacienda Tropical. Just wondering if anybody can give me any pointers on how this resort is run nowadays. I came back in 2000 as a young 16 yr old @ my uncle wedding, but this time i am bringing my fiancee. We are coming over for 2 weeks on the 12th April.

P.s Would i get into trouble wearing combat style shorts?? I am being told so by certain individuals just wondering what a few of you locals might thnk.

Hope to hear back.

Hey Gav, i have been to the Tropical for the last 2yrs. Never had any issues, staff are very friendly, food & drink no issues. We wasnt ill. Very relaxed.

We had an issues one year with a leak in the room, however the changed our room within hours once we told them about the problem.

I do know they have had a lot of work done around the place over the last few years so each time we go things do change. However i would reccommend this place to a friend, and i think that always says alot.

Never really thought much to the night time entertainment and didnt really stay around in the evening, always ventured out. Met some great local people that took us to great bars and pool halls etc...

Not sure about the combats ha sorry!

Hope you both have a great time x

I was just in POP in January...Someone in our group was stopped and questioned by Militares because he was wearing camo shorts. My suggestion is that within the confines of the resort, military stylye clothing is probably OK, but not around town.
Have Fun!!

HEY Fresh One!!!
Yes i went back in 2000and they was building new stuff etc and the Ocean World wasn't even on the agenda. Everything was great when i was last there. Glad to here it hasn't gone down hill in anyway shape or form haha :cheeky:

I really cant wait now, 6 weeks this Saturday, had my booster Hep A injection & my new passport has arrived so its just a matter of counting down the days by working hard.

ALSO......... Going out in the evening isn't one thing thats crossed my mind tbh. When i was there in 2000 we only ventured out the complex once to an aqua park like 30 mins away ( cant remember where, but all locals thought we were american ) and had an altication, well our taxi driver did. So we can quite glady walk around the beautiful local streets with no fuss...... If i can get her out the complex I think I might just go on a few little walks around.

Be great to here from you again.
Gav

We've had a TS there for years. The villas are beautiful...private pool, ect. Everyone we've sent there always had a great time. Laid back, top shelf-call alcohol and the food can be pretty good. They've dressed it up quite a bit since our first visit. Spent plenty of $$$ on keeping the place up. Check out the VIP areas. Clothing choices shouldn't be a problem in the resort, outside might be another thing. For a fun time out at night try Cafe Cito's pub crawl, go to Chris and Matty's up the beach (if they're still there), Ocean World for a little casino fun and although we haven't been back in over a year there used to be a little restaurant down town called La Ponderosa that we've enjoyed.

Lifestyles Crown Villas

Has anyone ever stayed at the Lifestyles Crown Villa in November? We are planning on going the middle of Nov and were concerned about the weather. Has anyone ever gotten really sick from the food. How were the accomodations? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
