driving from Punta Cana to Sosua

Hey, all. My boyfriend and I may have to fly into PC the next time we visit....can we drive to Sosua from PC, how long will it take, what's the best route, should we rent an SUV or other 4-wheel drive vehicle? Any and all answers welcome......can't wait to come back.

I would recommend opting for public tarnsportation and saving yourself the hassle.
Bavaro Express bus from Bavaro(Punta Cana) direct to Santo Domingo(4hrs), transferring to the Caribe Tours bus station upon arrival, and then taking another bus from there(4 hours give or take but I have always arrived within this time frame when doing this journey).

If economic factors are the reason for this choice, you should change your plans and fly directly into POP airport.
The 2 days lost traveling to and fro are not worth losing for a few bucks.
If you fly from PUJ to POP it will cost you collectively, return, over $500 US.
If you are going to PUJ as you have no other options, then drloca's suggestion may be your best option.
