Hello again,
Had anybody travelled through the Sierra de Neiba, along the Haitian border? From discubierta up to Comendador or El Cercado? (or the other way around) If so could you please desribe the road conditions and the scenery. Is it worth the trouble? Any security issues due to Haiti proximity?
Thank you

Borec

yes...but not in the past 3 years............

so my experience then will not help you now...except I really doubt the roads are any better (lousy...so plan to drive slowly) and please make sure you go in a 4 wheel drive vehicle and be prepared with medical kit/tools for if jeep breaks down/ food supplies and think thru you gasoline situation (Always is great to have an extra 5 gallon on those types of trips. Have fun!

Robert of DR1 took a very similar trip not all that long ago. And things do not change that much along the frontier...ask him..
