Calm beach for kids near La Isabela

I would like to bring a group from an orphanage(not good swimmers) to La Isabela. is there a calm beach without much undertow near there?How far is La Isabela from santiago? Thanks

Punta Rusia is unbeatable for that.
You can go out for 100+ yards in places, and still only be up to your waist.

Beach at El Castillo safe and calm, plus great tipico fish restaurant on the beach itself (Marilene's), and to boot you've got the Capella of the Americas and the Museum to visit at the park next door which is the remains of the first settlement of Europeans in the New World. Great for kids. Check out Rancho del Sol between the beach and the park for elegant dining and a swimming pool.
