About $20 US for a private taxi. A Publico cost about $1 US.

I have a friend there that can rent you a car for a whole day for about the same as a 2 way trip by taxi fare if you are interested. She is a local and she is very reliable and it is a registered and safe company. She can deliver the car to you and pick it up. let me know if interested

if you want to use a local taxi, call Tech taxi, they are about 33% of the taxi turistico

Maybe for the local taxi (Techni Taxi); but they can't pick up in Playa Dorada. A Tourist Taxi within P. D. will be about twice that ($33US to the airport alone).

Not sure at which hotel you will be staying within the Playa Dorada complex, but what I used to do, is walk up to the main road and meet your Techni Taxi driver outside of the main gates.

Yes, you have to leave the complex in order to take a less expensive taxi or the wonderful guagua for RD$10 to Sosua!! Insider tips for free!!! On DR1....

It's pretty easy to get significant discounts off of the list prices.
A Playa Dorada Taxi to Sosua and back can be had for around $40. 1200-1500 pesos max.
Find a regular driver and buy him some food and drinks and you will get some great deals.:classic:
