I've always liked merengue music, and I have lots of vintage songs and newer ones of different groups. Nowadays, however, I don't seem to hear much about merengue bands anymore, since more D.R. people may be into bachata
and reggaeton, and so it may seem that the once popular merengue has died out. Even if some bands do exist today, they definitely won't sound as the ones from the '70s and '80s did.
