I need to buy tickets from DR to madrid for june and i would like to know if there is another airport of departure (Not SDQ)...maybe pop or el catey?
I prefer non stop flight (going with kids).

I'm doing that flight next week, but have to do out of SDQ, I couldn't find direct flights from STI or POP.

I just did the flight. As far as I know, you can only fly out of SDQ.

Just did a quick search and came up with a non-stop PUJ to MAD on American Airlines.

Thank you, it's good to know we will have that option. The airport is walking distance from our future home.

I highly doubt AA flies direct from PUJ to MAD. I am sure there is a stopover in either NYC, MIA or SJU

Repeated the search, using arbitrary (different) dates and found a different non-stop on Air Europa.

I just came back and it was an ok flight. I flew on the cheapest ticket for around $1100 round trip to portugal.

Make sure you use their system with variable dates, you can select the cheapest days to fly. I saved $500-$1000 by doing this.

In the past, Air Europa has had the best fares (Tijeretazo), to be matched shortly after by Iberia (and applies for AA miles) out of Las Americas (SDQ). Air Comet also flies from SDQ. Best is to be flexible with your dates, as mentioned above. Also, with the escalating fuel prices, who knows if the great fares to Europe (US$250 + taxes RT) will be available this year. For curiosity, checked PUJ-MAD on AA and it is showing a whopping two thousand dollar ticket and requires a San Juan or Miami stopover.

PUJ is a great airport. My experience is that some of the better fares in the country to the US are available from PUJ because they have so much traffic. Not sure about their Madrid connection, though.
