Hey Santobonao

In their website they have a schedule for San Juan-Samana route only on weekends. In SDQ they will cut SJU route with 757. now only with American Eagle as you said.
However i heard that by the way they will cut AZS-SJU route but they have flight 5047 scheduled until December..:paranoid:

Observation.

Hey Guys.....

The information provided by santobonao comes from a post on another website which quotes an article by El Nuevo Dia from Puerto Rico.

It is pretty clear all the problems at AA have affected greatly the potency of AA hub a SJU......

It is fair to say that most of this info wont be available in the aa timetable for the next couple of weeks, when they start updating it....

American Airlines reduces flights from JFK to DR to 3 daily, starting september 6.
An A300 to STI, a B763 to SDQ and a B752 to PUJ.
They will have only 3 operations per day into STI.
All this plus the 12 other routes that they will finish from SJU, including AZS-SJU.

American will put out of service 2 Airbus A300 this year.

Eventually, this carrier will have no choice other than bankruptcy court to bargaing contracts and reduce operation cost.

Skyrocketing Fuel Costs and Softening Economy Drive Changes

FORT WORTH , Texas ? AMR Corp. today announced the first round of reductions to its flight schedule as part of its previously announced plans to reduce capacity in an effort to significantly reduce costs and create a more sustainable supply-and-demand balance in the market. The actions come in the face of skyrocketing fuel prices and a softening economy.

The initial changes to the flight schedule include, but are not limited to:

Discontinuing its New York (JFK) - London (Stansted) service effective July 2, 2008
Discontinuing its Chicago ? Buenos Aires service effective Sept. 3.
Discontinuing its Chicago ? Honolulu service Jan. 5, 2009. Between September 3, 2008, and Jan. 5, 2009, American will operate Chicago ? Honolulu service only on peak demand days.
Discontinuing its Boston ? San Diego service effective Sept. 3.
Restructuring American and American Eagle operations at San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning in September. This round of reductions will affect American and American Eagle flights originating from San Juan to the United States and various islands in the Caribbean.
Beginning June 2, 2008, customers affected by schedule changes will be contacted and reaccommodated on alternative flights. We regret any inconvenience these schedule changes may cause.

In the coming weeks, AMR will continue to make additional schedule reductions in other markets and will assess the location- and route-specific impacts of those changes. This will be done to achieve plans to reduce AMR?s fourth quarter mainline domestic capacity by 11 percent to 12 percent compared to 2007 levels and its fourth quarter regional affiliate capacity by 10 percent to 11 percent compared to 2007. Fourth quarter consolidated system capacity is expected to decline 7 percent to 8 percent year over year, including the capacity reductions that were announced earlier this year.

To effect these changes, AMR plans to retire 40-45 mainline aircraft (mostly MD-80s and some Airbus A300s) and 35-40 regional jets. In an effort to significantly reduce costs, American Eagle also will retire its Saab fleet by the end of the year.

Do you know AA.com?

I have to admit that PUJ-MIA is not ATR it is a AA mainline 737 or 757.

But If you take the time a check in AA SDQ-JFK after SEP you will see that I'm correct.

Tell me if DL is not leaving STI AT ALL until DEC. Tell if not correct if DL will stop JFK service from STI and SDQ?

Tell me if not correct that CO will reduce to 737?

Next time if you see something that is not correct you go ahead and post what is correct.

It is correct but not AT ALL.
Delta won't leave STI. They will still serving Santiago to New York via Atlanta.
JFK-DR routes will stop in August and September, but PUJ-JFK will restarts on December 20.
Atlanta Puerto Plata route will change from one weekly to one daily in summer and winter.

PUJ-MIA routes will be with 757
and POP-MIA with 738

JFK-DR by American is just as you said

Continental will not reduce to 737-800 in Summer or Winter. Go booking and right now they say that June-August operations will be in Boeing 757-300.
Right now they say that winter service to SDQ and STI will be in 737-800, but everybody knows that Continental uses to change it in October to 753 and one 764 and one 772 for each airport (SDQ and STI).

Delta as right now will reduce the JFK to STI-SDQ market...still waitning for the press releases.
As a ATL-STI...last year we only operate this flight one in dec and one in January...this flight was cancelled due to load factor issued and Cost to perate this airplane empty....not cargo....nada.
I dont know if will have this flight for ever to STI.
Now ATL-SDQ is doing much better JFK-SDQ.
