Another Pet Question

Hello Everyone

Can anyone tell me what the policy is when bringing your pet to another country. For example: I brought 3 of my cats from Canada to Santo Domingo and I'm planning on bringing them back home(Canada). I know the fees and the basic rules of carry-on and checked baggage but are there are any hidden fees or rules that I might not be aware of?

Any advice no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for your time

I believe this was answered on another thread. Do a search.

I assume cats are treated the same as dogs. You go to the vet to get a signed paper stating the animals have had their shots and are in good health. The vet charges for this.

Then, at the airport, before you go to the ticket counter, you go downstairs. There is a special office of customs for traveling pets. That person checks your papers and writes up another one. It costs some money. I don't remember how much. Maybe 300 pesos. Maybe 500. Then you return to the ticket counter, give them the paper, and proceed with check in.

Search the other thread with this information for the correct fees.
