I am looking into renting an apartment where they charge your electricity separate.
I have always rented an apartment where everything is included.
I will be there for 5 weeks, a 2 bdrm, will only be using the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night, along with other utilities
in moderation.
They say it should be $200 - $300 for the 5 weeks.
I just have nightmares of when I leave being saddled with a $1,000. electrical bill.
I do know electricity is expensive there.
Any input would be appreciated.

Personally, I would be hesitant to book a short term rental on this basis. I can't imagine that you will actually have an account with the power company, so it will remain with the owner, and he can pretty much tell you whatever he wants.
