here we go with the actual weather reports form Punta Cana.
while we passed today,
tuesday september 9th 2008,
with high 80'sF/32C, high humidity
very light winds from the SE,
few clouds been around.
-------
right now,
tuesday eve 8PM,
still 82F/28C, 80% humidity,
some clouds over the coastline will in some parts provide again some nighttime showers, short ones, no windy ones,
breeze is very light from the SE, not measureable.
the clouds still passing by the last 2 days are a rain area which been NNE of Venezuela a few days ago but got sucked upwards to the NNW by the tremendeous powers of Ike, so for the next 2 days i expect the same weather on the east.
high temps, high humidity, partly cloudy,
few short showers in some areas,
mostly caribbean sunshine.
i expect the wind to stay very low, max of 5-7 knots til the weekend,
then that stuff will be passed by.
for the rainfalls in santo domingo our 'great' Marina de Guerra prohibited yesterday on one of the calmest september days i ever faced here on the east all watersport activities, time that our own "people in charge" learn about the differences of climate/weather/Sea conditions in the different areas of our huge Island. i can not count how often every year we do not work offshore because Sea conditions are dangerous, but we would be allowed to do so, because it's sunny in the Capital City in the morning, so the weather on the Island is just fine.
a lot to improve.
even within the 50 kilometer Punta Cana Beach Strip we have areas which are dangerous for rip tides aso on some days while most sections of the area are just perfect for a Fun in the Sun Day.
i hope one day we get authorities with knowledge about conditions present at 'the area' and the power to make decisions the right way, locally, right where needed.
have a great eve everybody
cheers from the East
Mike
