Given the situation he is in, and the people he is messing with, do you think Wilton Guerrero after his declarations will remain alive for at least a year or two?

I would like to know your opinions.

Thanks.

My opinion, based on your previous posts, is that you are playing another one of your foolish games, this time involving the life of a brave and honorable man.

I think you are childish and absurb, and you have no idea what being a man is all about yet, so you should just stick to playing your patty-cake level games, and stay out of the adult realm until you grow up.

Just stating my opinion.

I found the question interesting, though I must admit the previous post did throw me for a loop. Why the beef?

Anyhow, the question is frightening at best, but wholly possible. There are two sides of why he would live or die:

He has garnered so much attention recently that he has become a nuisance. He could reveal names and get so many people in hot water that guys behind the scenes could have him taken care of to avoid having their names splattered all over the front page of the papers.

But because he has made himself so known to kill him could draw ire from the public and increased pressure. This could also draw interest from international entities and NGO's, plus could give the DR the label of a Narco State.

Who knows? We shall wait and see.

I think that at this point, if the drug lords were brazen enough to kill the senator, it would be a good gauge of just how bad the situation in the DR has become. Kind of like the canary in the mineshaft.

The drug war in Mexico is not going well. Why should the DR be any different?

I don't think so the case has drawn a lot of attention from the media. I think we should be asking are self what can the public or the government do to protect the senator’s safety.

If he gets killed he will become a martyr, people will take the streets and maybe escalate into an uncontrollable scenario.

But the drug lords are not stupid and they won't do nothing...for now, they will wait things to cool off and later, later they will strike. Senator Guerrero will have to be aware of his life for the rest of it.

no need to kill the senator, is there? does he not have kids? or wife? maybe old mother?
there is more than one way to break someone - for drug lords...
i do not think death of guerrero (or anyone from his family) will cause an uproar, who would the people fight? their local drug dealers? risking own lives and lives of their families? nah.

Back home in your beloved Poland that was the same mentality some had about communism and look what happened..... When the country unites, and this is what is hopefully happening in the DR the sky's the limit.

let me just remind you that polish people repeatedly chose communist as a president :cheeky:

politics - it's a hot thing. drugs are less in-your-face, the only possible drug revolution would be started by legalizing drugs (personally i am a huge fan of the idea, think of all those billions of dollars in the budget, at least a portion of this money is bound to be spent well... i hope...).

my imaginations shows me more subtle ways of discrediting senator, child pornography charges maybe?

Oh come on now! When was it ever impossible to do anything in DR? The people here applaud dishonesty and corruption - they don't take to the streets to complain about it! (Why would they, the vast majority participate and if they don't it's because the opportunity hasn't come their way!). For heaven's sake, look at the last Presidential Election and who people voted for and who the friends of the significant losers were (number of significant losers = 1. Friends of significant loser = Spanish M_f_a, fill the gaps in for yourself)). As to drug lords needing to be worried about public opinion, while I'm not aware that I know any drug lords (so I haven't asked their opinions), I am aware that a vast number of people take drugs - for which they rely on drug lords. So, why oh why are ordinary people going to bite the hands (of the drug lords) that feed them (drugs)?

I suspect DR is not a safe place for outspoken people!

As a realtive of Wilton Guerrero. I can say yes he does have family, and he is loved by all of Bani. even people from opposing parties. He did what he did because it has to be done, like any real man would. And Like Extremer said if he get's killed people will take the streets. This isn't the first time he has been in this situation, he was well aware of the consquences and rather die a man salvando su patria, then a coward. Like his last name states He is A GUERRERO. and threats isn't going to stop him from telling his country the truth.

Thank you sir.

It is an honor to have you write an entry in this thread. I have nothing but the deepest respect for Wilton Guerrero. And now, I offer the same to you.

Even though I am new to your country, I have studied your history, and it is obvious to me that Wilton Guerrero is truly one of the heroic figures of the Dominican Republic.

Bless you both, sir.

Is that Dr. Ramon Guerrero? Welcome to DR1 and thank you for posting. Please pass on this gringa's deepest respect for the Senator's courage (one of the reasons I started the other thread). His actions could well be the turning point to stop this country becoming like Mexico. I just hope that it isn't too late & that he hasn't sacrificied his privacy & the chance of a normal life in vain. Whether his actions prove successful or not he will still rank as one of the DR's heroes.
