this is relevant to those who are currently in the process of applying for their spouse to come to canada.

some people feel that the process is too slow & unfair & that the government should move faster to help them get their dominican spouses to canada faster...

this article shows that there are people out there ONLY trying to get a better life & love is the last reason on the list to move to canada (if it's on the list at all)

it just helps to give a little perspective as to why immigration is so thorough in making sure the relationships are legitimate & continuing....to avoid situations like this from happening to naive canadians

It's obvious that not all embassies operate the same. While Haiti asks for copies or originals of documents that were already sent in, this one didn't even interview the girl or they would have known why she got married.

Also the fact the couple never met until he went overseas to get married would be a huge red flag for Haiti. They would never approve if a Dominican did that.

You are right Anna!

I just think its no wonder there are sooo many immigration problems with people like this (canadian & non canadian) using or being used by the system.

I am kind of surprised that she was so honest about why she came....knowing that they are trying to send her back.
