Best A.I resort close to SD

Could you please give me your opinions on the best A.I resort on the south coast? I have 6 friends coming out to visit in Jan and want to book them rooms in a decent hotel

I should have said, buy my budget is tight so looking for rooms for around $100 us per night or less I guess

there is not really any good AI in the south close to santo domingo with the punta cana resorts standars.
but if you are not familiar with them. maybe you will have a good time in Coral Hamaca in boca chica, or Coral Costa Caribe in juan dolio. besides them, dont waste your time looking for any other resort in the area.
go to bookit.com and you will find good rate.

Does anybody know if the Barcelo Capella in Juan Dolio is doing OK?? I was watching it on Tripadvisor, and all of a sudden it dropped off the page. I have reservations there for December-Thanks

It is still there! Rumours abound but it has people in it at the moment and if it were to close I cannot believe it would be just before the high season

costa caribe

costa caribe in juan dolio is real nice....i have a friend who works there and he showed me around the other day...they have about 5-6 restaurants disco, casino, game room (pool tables, foosball, etc.) real nice staff. all inclusive..great price at 3,900 pesos for a couple. about 120 a night for two people...not bad at all.
