Omega stopped by for their grand opening, inside it look like a regular club to me, nothing special.
I have not been there, 700peso is way to much.
Maybe the price is ok if you are a tourist.

My understanding ( through a facebook friend who went and got a photo of Omega! ) is that the charge was for Omegas act.

It's not the normal price only at the door, people were walking around selling entry bands for 300 or 500 pesos, I forgot which. It was a packed night so they did well.
And what's wrong with Dominican presence? I suggest you move to a Desert Island, so you dont have to deal with local!

good article, I went there after the grand opening and it reminded me of the other discos in the area. 100 pesos for a small presidente is not going to drag in the local crowd. The colmadon "El Flow" is where I would drink. Half the price and authentic dominican music all night.
I stopped in the day after the Omega show. Not much of a reno. Looks the same as it did before it closed. I didn't have to pay any cover, since there was no act. I hear the same from friends as I saw inside. Same interior as before.... little or no clients on normal nights.
El Flow is usually packed. Been there a few times myself.
