Hello, I am not Dominican, nor do I have any connection with your country or fellow countrymen, but I am here asking for some information about your country if it is at all possible for you to provide it.
I am researching gun laws in other countries so that I can compare them to the laws in my state here in the U.S.. I am doing this to get a change in our law to allow for the ability to carry handguns for protection by the common citizen.
I would like to know how I can find out how many "porte" licenses there are issued in the DR.
What can they deny an application for a "porte" license for and how often does that happen when someone already has a "tenencia" license?
How many people in the DR legally own firearms and are the licensed shotguns and rifles more common than handguns, or is it the other way around?
Also, as an aside, is there hunting in the DR, what do you hunt and is hunting with a handgun allowed?
And, is reloading ammunition allowed?
