As we old relics creak our way out of the woodwork and prepare for reliving the old times we can barely remember :paranoid: does anyone know whether tickets for next month's Santana concert at Altos de Chav?n are on sale yet?

Codetel or Claro are supposed to be sponsoring it, but when a friend in the capital went to a Codetel branch the other day the young whippersnappers there didn't even know what Santana was, let alone whether they were selling tickets.

The bit about the old relics is not entirely true - the no.1 Santana fan in our household is just eight years old.:cheeky:

Thanks Lambada, I passed that information on to the friend in the capital who is supposed to be getting us tickets.

Wahhh - due in on the 8th.

Any news on whether there are still tickets left?? If so, I'd change my flight.

I wouldn't be able to make a call from NY while at work and would need to wait until I get home. If anyone has heard if this has 'sold out' please let me know.

My friend in the capital is on the case - she says they said the tickets were selling fast.

So, was anyone else there last night? It was one of the best performances I've ever seen. It is a spectacular venue, it was all very well organised and technically perfect and the actual show was sensational and worth every peso of the RD$3,500.

It was also the scene of what may well have been the highest recorded concentration ever of jeepetas and luxury cars in one small area anywhere on the planet... looking at the audience you'd be mistaken for thinking it was a society event rather than a rock concert.

Yes, Chirimoyito loved it, but it was a long set - at least two hours - and he flagged a bit towards the end but picked up again during the last few songs.
It opened with Soul Sacrifice with clips from the Woodstock performance on the video screen in the background.
They played most of their best known ones but not She's Not There, no.
No sign of JLG. The only celeb we spotted in the VIP stands was Do?a Milagros Ortiz Bosch who seemed to be enjoying herself.

I wish i was there

I'm soooo jealous, I just love santana, we see him every year he comes to vancouver. if I knew he was going to be in the dr I will plan my next trip around it!:classic:
