Fishing from shore????

Hello all, first timer here! Thursday is the big day ~ Puerto Plata for a week!

Grand Paradise Playa Dorada.


I am an avid fisherman and will be chuckin' a couple lines out from the charter but am curious about fishing from the shore at our resort??

Isn't it worth it??

what should I use for bait/lures??

Should I use my freshwater or Saltwater rod??

I am headed there in April and was wondering can you fish from the beach? Can you rent rods, bait, lores? And cost involved.

i beg to differ with you mike, i have seen people catch 8-10 pounders off shore near cabarete....out front of ocean point condos, and in front of velero a friend caught a 22 pounder....but its only good early in the morning after the tide washes everything back into the ocean

sorry mike, i should have read where the op was staying....there might not be anything there, but if he's going to try he should try real early in the am
