I watch them sometimes because they're actually pretty helpful in practicing your spanish comprehension. The acting is so overly dramatic that, even if you aren't fluent in the language, you can still sometimes get the gist of what is being said.

Here in NC we have only tow channel in Spanish and they spend all day long broadcasting Mexican novelas. "Primer impacto", "Sabado Gigante" and on Sunday three movies that is all I like.
Los Mexicanos se pasan el dia entero viendo novela.

In 1996 The T?pac Amaru Revolutionary Movement took over the Japanese ambassador's residence in Lima Peru during a party and took hundreds of hostages.

After 126 days the hostages who hadn't been released were freed in a raid by the Peruvian Armed Forces.

All the MRTA militants were killed including several young girls from the campo who were shot while watching the Mexican telenovella Maria la del Barrio starring Thal?a.

Me, I never missed an episode.
