Any Decent Cheap Dentists

Hi! I am just curious about any cheap decent dentists who practice in the DR. Well, to be more specific I want to know how much it cost to get a route-canal done in the DR. As we all know (or most of us) here in the U.S it could cost anywhere between $2,000/$3,000 when all is said and done. I would like to have as much info on this as possible.

Also, keep in mind that I'm not looking for any unsafe/back alley dentist neither. I would like to know about decent/up to par dentists that are not that expensive.

Thanks in adavance,
DR_DEFENDER

Would that be a "root canal" possibly ? ;)

Seriously, which part of the DR specifically?

And as far as what part of the DR I'm looking at it really doesn't matter all that much but if I could choose...the Santiago area would be nice.

Thanks,

I suggest you send an email to Enrique Rojas. They have a specialist endodontic dentist (Maria) that only does root canals. They are based in La Vega, Moca and Santiago. They are doing work for me and a couple of other DR1 posters right now and they are top notch.

Email them for pricing, my guess is that for a pure root canal, no other work is around RD$10,000.

Clinica Gomez in Sabaneta does root canals. I have had four done there. They only charge $2000RD. The quality of the work is very good but they are not so good at pain management. It's pretty cheap if you can take the pain.

Wow! No thanks!

Mine was completely painless, from the first needle to the subsequent crown.

I know you didn't mean cheap as in not skilled, but

Something about the term "Cheap Dentist" gave me the chills.

I recall being in College and having one God awful toothache, knew it was one that should have been repaired months ago but started calling around tot see who could see me on emergency basis

Found one, went to his office at 7Am and he greeted me with bottle of Ginger Ale in his hand , no big deal. Got in chair and I swear I smelled booze. He asked which tooth and I said the damm inflamed red gum area, he injected the Novocaine in my lower when tooth was in upper and he said "Woops, lest try again" I never ran so damm fast in my life

No cheap or drunk dentist for me

You can go to the dental school at UNIBE in Santo Domingo, and the cost would be probably about $500. Done by 3rd or 4th year dental students, with Faculty (dentists) supervising, and the emphasis is on pain management and proper practice. They may work slower, but i have always preferred slow and painless to fast with any pain. Work is high quality, and they do all types of dental work, including dentures, crowns, etc. Cost is a minimal fee plus materials.

Hi DR_DEFENDER,

I would suggest to do two things:

1) Get lucrative discount dental plans (I also have taken individual and dental plans) and,
2) searching best dentists near your residence and get discounts on specialty services such as braces, and other dental equipment etc. It will help you to get rid of your dental maladies at astonishing rates.

Ive been with the same dentist for years, even when I was living in the states I would travel here to get dental care (and vacation). I always found the cost to be extremely affordable, perhaps because I was comparing to US dental costs which are astronomical. I recently got a TON of work done about 6 fillings (i know, i know) and it was less than $300. I find to be extremely affordable. Not sure what you are looking for, the word cheap is not how I would want to describe my dentist! LOL.

Anyhow, dentists names is Hildemaro Arvelo and Sandra Arvelo (husband and wife team). They are located near Lope de Vega in Naco. What I dont have is the office number. Ill find it and post it later on. Well worth it. You gotta love a dentist that makes sure you feel no pain. At least I do.

I can confirm this. I went 5 years ago for a root canal, absolutely no pain, I actually fell asleep (late night! ) during the procedure.

I think the cost was materials only and came to 150 pesos.

The only problem was that the X-ray lab was across the street so twice I had to go there complete wuth a rubber dam and the little apron around my neck!!

The email address for the dentist I mentined in a post a while back is harvelo65@yahoo.com. His name is Hildemaro Arvelo and they are located near Lope de Vega across from Carabela and next to Luis Munoz River school. They do general dentistry and specialize in dental implants, root canals etc. I highly recommend them. Affordable and quality professional service. (Not cheap, thats just a creepy word to use for a dentist!)

PUCMM also has a Dental Clinic and it has an emergency room...

There are 10 or 15 good inexpensive dentists around my house. I normally recommend
La Centro Dental Cibao on Sabana Larga just before Restauraci?n in Santiago: Dr. Rita Mu?oz...809 971 5430

How do you get contacts to UNIBE, would you have any contact details? - Also, can you reserve ahead of time? Need some somewhat complex dental works - a bit quasy but on the other hand, if they are final year students and supervised by a good teacher, I guess it can't be much different from a graduated novice.
