Could someone recommend a company where I can have some signs made, in the Sosua/Cabarete area? The type of sign I am referring to is a typical Real Estate for Sale sign with a company name and phone number on corrugated plastic. I also need to have a metal sign repainted.

Try

Johann Designs in Pto Plta, they have large, small, custom whatever signs.
A small sign painter shop in Sosua towards the stop light coming up from Checkpoint Bar area. Sign shop on the main highway in Los Charamicos by the Casa de Tornillos. Corrugatecd plastic available in some librerias or office supply places.
