I need a nice hotel in Puerto Plata (city). Something like a bed and breakfast. Kind of like Atarazana in SD. I would like something with parking or parking close by.

there is the Puerto Plata Beach Resort - it's not all-inclusive. It's on the Malecon and the last time I was there I paid 1300 pesos a night for two nights, and got a one bedroom suite with cable tv, balcony, pool, kitchenette and a separate living/dining area with a/c and hot water. It wasn't fancy or modern but it was clean. There are cheaper.
You can check out the Porto Fino hotel - it's near the entrance to the malecon as well. The rooms are 700 pesos a night w/double bed, cable, hot water but they aren't all the same. Make sure you ask them to show you a room before you commit. There is a good pizzeria/italian restauraunt next to it too.
