The mind boggles! Do you think they just happened to have the onions to hand or do you think they went to the shop and bought them especially for this purpose?

This also brings up a good point - if for whatever reason you end up in a Dominican Jail - don't eat the onions!

Those black uniformed cops are known locally as the Ninjas. They can grab a few onions at the nearby colmado before interrogating a prisoner.

I have heard of that used for torture (being inserted into very private body parts)

funnilly enough i just watched a dvd where they used hard boiled eggs for interrogation

LOL. Small confession, I'm not (other than their This Is Money sub-board which is a very good resource for catching up on UK banking risks/developments etc).

But where is this in the Dominican Press? I read the papers and I have yet to come across it. It is, as El_Uruguayo says on the wires, both in English and Spanish:

I think hot peppers would be more effective than onions, as most Dominicans cannot stand anything even a little bit spicy!
