Hi,

I am australain citizen and I am applying for Spanish visa, so forgive me if this thread is off topic. but I face a problem faced by many of you. I also need a police clearance from Italy because during the past 5 years I lived there for 1.5 years.

I am now working in Germany. I have two options to apply for Italian police clearance:
1) go to the italian embassy one or more times in frankfurt (1 trip = 60 euro and 4 hours)

2) fly/take a train to Italy for 3-4 days where I lived and apply from there. (trip = 200 euros approx)

What would you suggest? Note that I can enter Italy without any problems because I have a Schengen visa.

I will probably get the cert a lot quicker if I use no 2) and I am seriously considering it. I will also have a nice holiday :)

I had a few questions:
-- anyone applied for the police cert from outside Italy? what are your experiences? (process, duration, cost, etc)
-- anyone applied from inside Italy? what are your experiences?
-- will 3-4 days in Italy be enough time to at least apply for it (I don't expect to get it in that time).

thanks.

I'm sorry but this is a DR related site and this forum is for mostly for Dominicans living in the DR who are trying to get a visa to other countries.

If you feel that 2 is the best option for you then go for it especially since you don't need a visa to get to Italy. I recall one poster that needed school records from Italy for his Dominican wife but not sure if he is still posting here.

Our mod Sangria has posted a link that might help http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/europe/italy.asp

I'm sure you did a search because I found the links http://www.dr1.com/forums/visas/95485-police-clearance-certificates-canada-italy.html

Good luck
