I don't care what the food is like here, it would still make for a romantic evening. Just you, your significant other and this beautiful vista-

A big thank-you goes out to Chip, who although severely pressed for time came out on very short notice and graciously hung out with us.

I would recommend to anyone that you go out and meet some DR1 members wherever it is you travel in the Dominican Republic.

It is not just the lovely views and beautiful weather that make the island what it is-it is also the people, both natives and expats alike.

I will post more in the next coming days.

Salto De Jimenoa...

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone!!!

Here now is the waterfall I visited on a previous trip. The photos were so bad at the time I couldn't post them. I think these came out better.

Anyone wanting to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends in a beautiful, natural environment (you can even go for a swim here) should consider this site.

The wooden suspension bridges seem to have been repaired-they felt much sturdier than when I visited previously. But don't be fooled-don't try dancing over them or you may wind up getting hurt.

La Hamaca de Dios in Jarabacoa...

"La Jamaca de Dios" (God's Hammock) is a restaurant in Jarabacoa.

It rests up on a mountain that overlooks the whole city and the view, if you can believe it, is even more spectacular than that of Camp David in Santiago.

The road to the restaurant snakes it's' way up the side of the mountain-

Correction-the name of the restaurant is "Aroma de la Monta?a".

The name of the mountain is "Jamaca de Dios", which is a residential area where you can buy a sol?r and build a home with an absolutely breathtaking view.

If any of this information is incorrect, please feel free to correct me.

I had the pleasure of spending that particular afternoon in Jarabacoa with Cobraboy and his wonderful wife, who made my friends feel right at home.

I met his dogs, including his incredible Great Dane, which was an absolute pleasure as I'm a big-time dog lover (all animals really, but especially dogs).

We spent the whole afternoon talking and it was as if I was catching up with an old friend.

Thanks for everything, Cobraboy-and I hope the next time you see me it'll be with a motorcycle helmet on ready to take a tour with your company somewhere in the DR!!!
