Every time I go to SD I see more and more places that look promising, but the ones I can vouch for are La Cuchara de Madera (Piantini) and La Patisserie (Bella Vista).

A good quesillo would probably be found at the more traditional, Dominican-style reposterias like Bondelic (Urb. Fern?ndez), Del Jardin (Evaristo Morales) or the one in Seralles off Jose Amado Soler, De La Casa.

Another really traditional one with a good reputation is "La Turca" off Las Mercedes (is the street Jose Reyes?) in the Colonial Zone.

Yes Dulceria Maria La Turca is on Jose Reyes almost corner Las Mercedes. Been there for 78 years. 809.221.7341

I've never been disappointed with either Francesca's or Excellent Cakes, both on Independencia west of Churchill [we usually come down to Independencia on Via Italia, make a right]

Bondelic gets another vote from me. Best cake in the country IMO.
La Cuchara de Madera is great as well but more upscale and fancy.

Another one which the wife swears by is Pasteleria de la Casa who now have a shop in the new Jumbo Luperon, and their original one in Agustin Lara, between Lincoln and Lope de Vega.
