Yesterday i attended a palo. Not that i had much choise. It was right next door to where i live. 16 hourse of heat, rum, ritmic dancing induced trance. Not a clean tourist version. in fact I was the only foreigner attending. With foreigner difined as not being born in the bario or married to someone born in the bario.
For a western scientific minded guy it was a whole new experience. From the panic of a 11 year old girl which came out her first ?montada?to the change of the nieghbour her voice and even and comportement. One thing i can not explain at one point her face changed from being symetrical to a symetrical.
Overal an experience i?m glad to have whitnessed
On a personal note.
Clerengue is powerfull stuff but i?ven?t a wooden head
Apperently it makes that i can dance (today i got several comments on my dancing style, which is amazing knowing that i dance like a broomstick)
I kill chhickens faster than a dominican
