1st- How busy is it (the whole peninsula as well) in mid-February?
2nd- What is the restraunt selection like around there? Where we are staying, the El Marinique, has a meal plan, but we like the idea of trying many places?

Hi,
Las Galeras is never very busy, there is enough space for everybody.
In the bay of Samana it will be busy with boats doing whalewatching with the passengers of the big cruiseships which will arrive every day. But Samana has enough beaches so that you will find tranquility if you are looking for this, especially in Las Galeras.
There are various restaurants in Las Galeras, italian, french, dominican, american, international and not to forget El Cabito (El Cabito)
where you have the best view in town and very good food as well.

Enjoy!
