I was on the beach today in front of Villa Taina and overheard some people talk about a man around 60 who lost his life not far from here. The said the rescuers tried to save him but is was too late.

I am sorry for his family who were also here on vacation.

Yes very sad when something like this occurs, May God Bless his Soul, and hopefully give some comfort to his family at this very difficult time.

on North Coast beaches. Beware.

Do they not post warning signs or is beach safety not an issue here ?

To tell you the truth I have never seen a lifegaurd here in the DR,
do they exist?

Villa Taina is on the beach in Cabarete. Pale Yellow with Happy Surf club in front and Serenade Restaurant and bar. Awesome happy hour 5-7.

This happens here quite frequently due to the extremely strong under currents from the Sea. Also I have heard of several pool drownings in the hotel's over the years as they too in most cases have no lifeguard on duty.

Very sad especially when this happens to a child...
