The Academia Dominicana de la Lengua started working last August on a dictionary of dominicanisms with the financial backing of the Fundaci?n Guzm?n Ariza Pro Academia Dominicana de la Lengua. It is estimated that it will be ready for publication in 2013. There are three existing dictionaries of dominicanisms: Pat?n Maceo (1924), Carlos Esteban Deive (1977) and Max Uribe (1996), none of which is considered the last word.

The Guzm?n Ariza Foundation has also sponsored the website of the Academy (Academia Dominicana de la Lengua - Inicio) where the visitor can find many resources regarding the Spanish language in general and Dominican Spanish in particular.

DRoners are invited to visit.
