Is the D.R. passport an O.K. passport for opening bank accounts in other countries outside the D.R.?

If anyone has done so or has heard of anyone who has done so, please post your information and tell us about which banks did this for the D.R. passport and the country they are in.

Thanks, Bob :glasses:

If anyone has had problems opening bank accounts outside the D.R. please tell me.

I am mainly interested in bank accounts outside the D.R. and the U.S.A.

Thanks, Bob :glasses:

I.O.M. even with UK passport needed a lot of tenacity & persuasion!

I don't think you will have much luck off-shore with a Dom. Rep. Passport only. Try T & C Banks ............ but you WILL have to visit them personally to set up an account! ~ Grahame.

In 2004 I was able to open a certificado account in the Cayman Islands, via my DR bank, without showing any passport whatsoever, nor did I need to visit. Three years or so later the Cayman Islands account got moved to their branch in Panama (the bank itself did this) - again, no passport, no visit necessary. This might have changed under the new banking regulations but Panama have still not asked for a visit or passport.
