passenger ship transportation from US?

Is there any kind of passenger ship transportation from the US to DR in general, or better yet the Samana area in particular? My daughter is getting married in Samana in March, and I was hoping to take a ship from the mainland rather than flying directly to DR. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You might just still be able to catch a cruise ship out of Miami calling at Samana, search the web or talk to your travel agent. Otherwise only passenger service is the Mayaguez (PR) to Santo Domingo overnight ferry three times a week. Not a luxury liner though :-(
