You may have different terms depending on what the 'assets' refer to...
In the financial services sector specifically private banking certain terms are used to refer to fixed and liquid assets. They refer to the type of investment a client, shareowner, fund company etc. has or the type of assets in which the aforementioned parties have invested. As well, it could refer to the portfolio composition of an investment security. Fixed assets are usually property; equipment etc. which can't be converted into cash very easily and long term whereas liquid assets are cash and can be sold easily on the market with a gain or loss before the close of market trading.
These are some of the first concepts I learned in investment banking.
In Latin America in the financial services sector when referring to securities the following terms are:
1/ fixed assets-
activos fijos
2/ liquid assets-
activos l?quidos
ACTIVOS L?QUIDOS - Enciclopedia de Econom?a
-these same terms can be translated differently in other sectors such as in real estate or accounting.
