I felt it in Santiago and called a friend volunteering in Jimani and of course they felt it much stronger. It was a 6.1 at the epicenter 36 miles outside of PORT-AU-PRINCE.

It only last a few seconds , but it was strong enough to scare a lot of journalists, that run out of their hotel and in the street.

How long time will it take before this after shook stops ?

CNN specialists said aftershocks could possibly last for MONTHS
They've had over 40 aftershocks since the Big quake so far

The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.1 magnitude quake hit at 6:03 a.m. (1103 GMT) about 35 miles (56 kilometers) northwest of the capital of Port-au-Prince. It struck at a depth of 13.7 miles (22 kilometers) but was located too far inland to generate any tidal waves in the Caribbean.

I actually thought I felt something in my bed but wrote it off as my bed moving when I was reaching for the covers.

Interesting: It took a minute for it to hit Santiago. That was fast.
Remember when the big one hit Haiti, it was felt more in Santiago and San Francisco de Macoris than inthe Capital...can't say why...

And I timed this one, close on to 10 seconds first to last....

I felt it while in bed here in El Portal. If you were sleep you would likely not have noticed it.
