it will be an odd place.. lots of plants.. little sticks of furniture here and there
unmatched curtains that do not fit.

I have traded the deep quiet of the building here which is almost like a tomb
for the noise of the street and teenagers with boom boxes

There is no balcony so no where for the hammock or for seeing the moon
and thus
the
howling
is
curtailed

I prefer Brautigan

16-bit Intel 8088 chip

with an Apple Macintosh
you can't run Radio Shack programs
in its disc drive.
nor can a Commodore 64
drive read a file
you have created on an
IBM Personal Computer.
both Kaypro and Osborne computers use
the CP/M operating system
but can't read each other's
handwriting
for they format (write
on) discs in different
ways.
the Tandy 2000 runs MS-DOS but
can't use most programs produced for
the IBM Personal Computer
unless certain
bits and bytes are
altered
but the wind still blows over
Savannah
and in the Spring
the turkey buzzard struts and
flounces before his
hens.

i prefer the ENO hammock... which i get on Amazon And Bliss Slap Straps for putting them up. It is nylon and will rot if you leave it out but I have found that it is worth it to just have it hanging. I think that I have been through three.. ok. one got stolen from a porch in LT and one rotted.. But they pack up into themselves and are great for the beach. The straps make them palm tree ready.

I think that Ikea has a hammock stand which I can perhaps put in the living room with the plants. I am the only gringa here and they know that I am strange so when they peer in and see me in a hammock in the living room, that will only help my image.

welll... my Maria, who used to be my secretary but whom i have hired to be my elder sister in charge of moving, went to tell the landlady the other everning and saw her other side for the first time. She came back to my place in Shock!! NO If I treied to move my new fridge and stove out of the apartment she would take me to court as a thief. No She would not accept a replacement. NO she had TOLD me to keep the old fridge and stove in the Cuarto and those were the only ones that were acceptable to her.

Elder sister. whom I promised to listen to,.. tells me that there is nothing that I can do....

So I add to the rent for five years here the cost of the new fridge and stove which were about $2000 together...

That was what it cost to get here.

But since I will never have to talk to this landlady again

it is a small price to pay.

she is a miserable being.

The Atlas fridge that I bought has already broken. I will not buy an Atlas fridge again. Many will remember the hard time that I had getting the first one replaced by Americana.. they probably just repplaced it with another bum one since the thermostat is already gone.

So we are gonna buy the cheap stove and fridge for the new place and I will save up til I can get a new MABE stove.. best I ever had.. And a new MABE fridge.. and a gas dryer.

First have to fix the leadk in the new apartment's kitchen.

I do hope that this will not be a never ending thread.

I owe her two mattresses, one box springs and a mirror.

I came with one good mattress.

But since I arrived here nine years ago with a lap top a back pack and a guitar.. I trust my abilitiy to accumulate. OHD those BOXES And Boxes of Books!

and thanks to Ikea I have a little sofa bed, and two chairs.

I had the dining room set from Conforama at my last place.

The new pine base for the bed.. at under 2000 pesos delivered.. arrived yesterday. I have the fan on to get rid of the varnish smell.....

oh happy days..

no more wicked landlady

moving month..
she keeps the new fridge

the new stove

the security deposit

i leave my new mattress

i buy a new mattress with box springs.. done

she keeps security deposit to replace three broken wicker chairs

apartment is in much better shape than when i arrived

i have bought myself a new used stove and fridge

i tell the neighbor to tell her not to go all Dona Lourdes and @uerida Elizabeth on me because i know that she is stealing my fridge and stove and will take them to her own apartment. She knows that I will be living in the apartment below and will see these move out. I tell the neighbor.. all these older women have had these apartments for years... to tell her not to address me on the street as I think she is a thief.

Also not to complain or come after me or I will get back my criminal attorney and sue her for the return of my deposit

my reward will be never having to talk with her again

i said i would not cross the street to help her if she fell and my neighbor said yes i would she says she knows me and my friendd said maybe I would send someone i realized that there are lots of men on the street who should be helping this old woman

un
like her SONS ... who appear to be devouring her

but .. well.,. two of her four children escaped to the States
and leave her with the one who is mentally ill.

And she appears to be reduced to stealing fridges from tenants.

What a sad state of affairs.

cockroach
the cockroach crouched
against the tile
while I was ****ing and as
I turned my head
he hauled his butt
into a crack.
I got the can and sprayed
and sprayed and sprayed
and finally the roach came out
and gave me a very dirty look.
then he fell down into
the bathtub and I watched
him dying
with a subtle pleasure
because I paid rent
and he didn't.
I picked him up with
some greenblue toilet
paper and flushed him
away. that's all there
was to that, except
around Hollywood and
Western we have to
keep doing it.
they say some day that
tribe is going to
inherit the earth
but we're going to
make them wait a
few months.

I feel your pain.

We've finally moved Camp Moto from La Confluencia to Pinar Dorado just around the corner from Hotel Pinar Dorado.

Not much sucks worse than moving. Bad illness and/or sickness or death of family or friend...

i comfort myself with the thought of my

five year

renewable

lease

such security as I have not known for years

in north carolina.. i had a geodesic dome.. dual domes actually .. and always feared that the roof or whatever you call it would finally collapse before i could fix it up enough to sell it!

this move is actually going pretty zen because i have so much help

two Haitian moving guys .. well three actually

and a Dominican cleaning lady

and a Dominican shopping assistant

I have time to shower and entertain

It is really easy since the apartments are only three floors apart, basically so I just clean up and pack in open cartons and have someone carry them down the stairs.

I am down to a desk and a washing machine and tv and stand here.

both places are looking very zen and i am dusting up the last bit of loose paper.

i have thrown out bags and bags of trash

but then i sorta like funerals as well

it appears now that home is where the internet and the coffee are located...

the new fridge and used stove arrive downstairs today

both apartments are very zen

with lots of empty space since i had crowded in my three Ikea pieces among her furnishings..

I hung the paintings up first downstairs
then moved the plants
then put up family photos on the wall

which is about the opposite of how i usually move

so the downstairs place really feels like home

but no connection to the cyber world.

ny email got hacked and i got notes from england and san francisco and i realized that i would be livng a very different sorta retirement offshore were it not for the internet .. and say,., THIS forum.. and FB.. which give me illusion of having a house warming every day..

(did I work my way out of that one yet? ) Really.. there is a DR1 reality in cyberspace and quite another one face to face.. I have met only a few people from the Board and Love them.. but they do not live in SD. So anyone is welcome to send me a PM and stop over for Coffee or Tea,,,,, but I do not do groups well and I do not drink alcohol as I am on medication)
