Charcoal is made from wood. You make a massive pile and then light from the inside. Takes a few days to burn slowly and yay charcoal.

charcoal is A black, porous, carbonaceous material, 85 to 98 percent carbon, produced by the destructive distillation of wood and used as a fuel, filter, and absorbent.
wood ash is wood heated to a point that the carbon is burned off

There is two minerals that are trace minerals that if you do not have them in your body you will develop type two diabetes and if you get those two minerals the diabetes will disappear. The doctors will not tell you because it is bad for business

OK, huge portion of industrialized world suffers from Type II diabetes and doctors know the cure but won't disclose? I was following your posts with interest, that remark belongs with oil companies preventing the 500 miler per gallon carburetor from being marketed

Google trace minerals and diabetes and you will know it is no secret

Do you mean Vanadium and Chromium? That's what I'm coming up as trace minerals. It's being marketed, you can order the mineral supplements online through Amazon.

Yes you can but also check out any digestion problems to find out why you are not getting it normally in your food. There is a few more trace minerals that also support those two minerals

You can get all the trace minerals your body requires by eating almonds and other nuts, root vegetables..etc. Unless your body doesn't work correctly you require no supplements , just unprocessed fruit, vegetables and grains, and some Dominican chicken.

The soil in the Dominican Republic is mineral deficient and minerals are not distributed equally so if you are eating spinach to get iron but where it was planted there was no iron in the soil there is any iron in the spinach. Plants can not make minerals.

Correct. But a diabetic's body does not function properly (lack trace minerals) thus the need for mineral supplements.

If you think you can get all the minerals and nutriments in your food check out the science
SOIL MINERAL DEPLETION:
Studies By Dr Linus Pauling on Soil Mineral Depletion: Studies By Dr Linus Pauling, twice noble prize winner, said "you can trace every sickness, every disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency". Yet, all over the world, minerals are disappearing from agricultural soils at an alarming rate. In 1992, the official report of the Rio Earth Summit concluded "there is deep concern over continuing major declines in the mineral values in farm and range soils throughout the world". This statement was based on data showing that over the last 100 years, average mineral levels in agricultural soils had fallen worldwide - by 72% in Europe, 76% in Asia and 85% in North America.
Table 2. Mineral Content of Selected Produce 1963 vs. 1999 - (mg/100g sample)
Produce Ca Mg K Percent Water
1963 1999 1963 1999 1963 1999 1963 1999
Apples, raw, with skin 7 7 8 5 110 115 84.8 83.9
Beans, snap, green, raw 56 37 32 25 243 209 90.1 90.2
Broccoli, raw 103 48 24 25 382 325 89.1 90.6
Carrots, raw 37 27 23 15 341 323 88.2 87.7
Lettuce, iceberg, raw 20 19 11 9 175 158 95.5 95.8

Tomatoes, red 13 5 14 11 244 222 93.5 93.7

In 1936, the US Senate was presented with the results of a scientific study it had commissioned on the mineral content of our food. The results demonstrated that many human ills could be attributed to the fact that American soil no longer provided the plants with the mineral elements which are so essential to human nourishment and nutritional health.
The following excerpts concerning Senate Document 264 of the 74th Congress, 2nd Session 1936, were found in the March 1936 issue of Cosmopolitan:
?? 99 percent of the American people are deficient in ? minerals, and ? a marked deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease.?

From 1992 Earth Summit
Percentage of Mineral Depletion From Soil During The Past 100 Years, by Continent:
North America - 85%
South America - 76%
Asia - 76%
Africa - 74%
Europe - 72%
Australia - 55%

If the doctor tell you that you can get all your needs from your 4 food group that is why doctors live 56 years and the people that don't listen to them live 75 years

If you would like to check your vegetables buy a brix meter and get a brix chart and you will find if your vegetables really have the minerals you think

I'm not saying there isn't benefit on taking Chromium, but if there's one thing I've learned over years of reading health related articles is that nobody truly understands the human body as each entity (body) is quite different from the other and are influenced by many, many factors. I can't tell you how many articles I've read claiming that this or that is the "cure" for such and such disease (anything from a cold to cancer), only to read some other article completely discrediting the original one.

"Some studies using cell cultures indicate that chromium found in supplements, particularly chromium picolinate, may cause damage to DNA. Because very little is known about the potential adverse effects of supplementing on a regular basis with chromium, I recommend that you get your chromium from whole foods only."

Here are some healthy, whole food sources of chromium:
Food SourcesServingChromium (mcg)
Corn on the cob1 ear52
Sweet potato1 medium36
Apple1 medium36
Organic Egg1 medium26
Tomato1 medium24
Broccoli1/2 cup11

<tbody style="border: 0px;">
</tbody>
And here are the Food and Nutrition Board's most recent guidelines on adequate daily intake of chromium for different age groups:
Adequate Intake (AI)
Life StageAgeMales (mcg/day) Females (mcg/day)
Infants0-6 months0.20.2
Infants7-12 months5.55.5
Children1-3 years1111
Children4-8 years1515
Children9-13 years2521
Adolescents14-18 years3524
Adults19-50 years3525
Adults51 years and older3020
Pregnancy18 years and younger-29
Pregnancy19 years and older-30
Breastfeeding18 years and younger-44
Breastfeeding19 years and older-45

So it does appear that the old adage of "An Apple a day keeps the doctor away" is applicable in this case.

In the end everyone is going to do whatever he/she is helpful in their situation.

Your are correct in a perfect world but again if the soil is deficient Plants can not make minerals. it is impossible for the fruit and vegetables to have the mineral

Here are some healthy, whole food sources of chromium:
Food Sources Serving Chromium (mcg)
Corn on the cob 1 ear 52
Sweet potato 1 medium 36
Apple 1 medium 36
Organic Egg 1 medium 26
Tomato 1 medium 24
Broccoli 1/2 cup 11
If the soils has no Chromium than all these will no have chromium because the plants can not produce minerals

Correct. But a diabetic's body does not function properly (lack trace minerals) thus the need for mineral supplements.

Diabetics suffer from too much of the wrong inputs (food of the wrong type) than lack of trace minerals. Becoming insulin resistant is caused by sugars and fast breakdown carbohydrates. Foods with a high glycemic count are what you need to avoid.

You are right except that trace minerals also cause insulin resistant. Also insufficient minerals cause Pica [the munches the uncontrollable erg to eat] often seen in animals cribbing fence post and dirt. How do you stop animals from doing that you give them a mineral block.
