Mariasela Alvarez: Explaining the flooding in the Colonial City

For more than 500 years, there has never been flooding in the Colonial City. The reason, the first governor of the first city of the Americas, Santo Domingo, Nicolas de Ovando, at the time commanded that underground drainage so large a person could walk inside the drainage be built to ensure the waters of hurricanes would flow south to the Caribbean Sea. Well of course it was. Just follow the logic train.

Global warming has caused more people to drink water to hydrate themselves.
The only portable and drinkable water here is in the 12 oz or 1/2 liter plastic bottles.
The more you use the more trash plastic you create.
The more trash plastic the higher the chance of blocking the drains.

Voila! It's the fault of climate change.
