I went to the local paint store in Sosua to buy some alkyd enamel paint with a semi-gloss finish for my interior wood doors and trim. I was amazed when they told me that there is no such thing. They said that their oil-based paints are only available in either flat or gloss finish, and if I want a semi-gloss finish then I need to buy both the flat and gloss finish paints and mix them together until I get the sheen that I want. That sounds crazy, but after reviewing the websites for Tropical, Popular, Lanco, and Tucan, I must admit that I was unable to find any oil-based product with a semi-gloss finish. I prefer not to use a water-based acrylic latex paint because the factory finish on my doors is an oil-based semi-gloss paint. Applying latex paint over that would require sanding and applying a bonding primer and would not give me the same hardness and smoothness of an alkyd paint. Any suggestions?

Is what you are looking for available in a spray can? I'm thinking of the paint line that is available for appliances

That is a very good question. There used to be sources of Sherwin Williams paints in the DR. Maybe that possibility still exists?

What you are looking for is $75/gallon on Amazon prime. Fits your need perfectly
