Hi.
I'm planning a trip to DR between March 6 - March 14. I'm a Dominican girl living in Atlanta for the moment, since I got Spring Break I decided to go back to DR to my best friend wedding on the 6th, because I'm going a couple of friends of mine decided to join me for the Spring Break.
So for them to enjoy and see how beautiful is my country I decided this for our week of vacations:
- Saturday 6 - Show them Sto. Dgo.
- Sunday 7 - Go to Samana and stay in a cheap but clean place. Possibly Casa Los Holandes. Any suggestions on where to stay???
- Monday 8 - Whale Watching and Cayo Levantado
- Tuesday 9 - Waterfall "El Lim?n" / Los Haitisies or Playa Rinc?n.
- Wednesday 10- Go to Puerto Plata and show them around. Any suggestion on where to spend the night???
- Thursday 11- Go to Punta Ruc?a and Cayo Arena. In a previous search I see that someone point out a place to stay there owned by a Mr Wolfe. Does anybody can provide me with a phone number???? We are only going to stay for one night.
- Friday 12 - Go back to Sto. Dgo. with a possible stop at Santiago.
- Saturday 13- Visit cave "Las Maravillas"
- Sunday 14 - Return to Atlanta
Is this ok? I want to know of any suggestion to stay at and better if it does not require any reservations. The 3 of us are student and we are in low budget. I'm planning on counting on public transportation unless I can convince one of my friends at DR to lend me their vehicule. Hopefuly this may happen.
My friends are one from Singapore and the other from France. I'm open to any suggestions and I can make changes in my proposed schedule. Personally I have never gone to the majority of those places. I don't know why but I have travel more the East and South Part of the country than the North.
I hope that Punta Ruc?a is everything I have read at this forum about it. I have been at Bah?a de Las Aguilas and I haven't seen any more beautiful beach in DR than that.
I got a question, is it possible to arrange the trip to Cayo Arenas at Punta Ruc?a directly or I need to set that up at Puerto Plata? Is this trip expensive? My friends want to do some snorkeling, is it possible there????
Is it possible to just show up and find a place to sleep when we arrive or do I need to make any reservations by that time of the year?
Thanks for any help you can provide me
Johanna
