Maybe you used a travel agency that had no credit with the hotel. Yes, you might have paid in advance, but if the money does not get to the hotel, then your stay is not paid for. Credit cards are to make sure you do not walk out without paying your bill.
Relax little more, and enjoy the good things in life.

My husband, 20 year old daughter and I stayed at the Jaragua and had a wonderful time. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and the food was good. The garden area is the oldest part of the hotel and it's very pretty and very close to the Avenida Independencia, which takes you to a great typical restaurant and from where you can walk to shopping and also to the colonial city. We stayed at the tower facing the Caribbean, which is newer. It was my daughter's first time and she loved it all. Husband and I had been there a few years back and found it more up to date with all possible amenities. We have traveled all over the world and believe that the attitude you project to others is what you receive in return. A "buenos dias" and "gracias" go a very long way. |

I had an excellent experience with the front desk staff. They were very helpful. I frequent Marriott hotels worldwide. This one maintains the quality expected. Request for a credit card should be expected and will make it easier to purchase food or beverage from the restraunt, sports bar, or poolside bar. The walk can be expected for a garden room. There is also a 10 story tower that is only five paces from the front desk. |
