|Highway assistance gets better
The Ministry of Public Works, which provides highway assistance nationwide has announced that its vehicles are now being posted along national highways to offer mechanics and tire assistance services. The mobile service is free and available 24 hours a day. This means that drivers who are experiencing problems with a tire just have to stop at one of the pick-ups posted along the highway and will be given assistance with air or helped to change the tire. The mobile units are also equipped with hoses to supply water for an overheated radiator. Ambulance and security services are also provided.
The service can also be reached by calling Tel 829 688-1000.
The road assistance service is a major advantage for drivers making the most of the well-paved road connections throughout the Dominican Republic.

|PUJ wins regional Airport Service Quality Award
Punta Cana International Airport has won the third place for Best Airport by region for Latin American-Caribbean in the category of over two million passengers per year. The first two places in the region were won by Guayaquil and Quito airports in Ecuador.
The annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards recognizes and rewards the best airports in the world, according to the Airports Council International's ASQ passenger satisfaction survey. The awards serve as a passenger service-benchmarking program for airports.
The ASQ Survey covers 34 key service areas and includes eight major categories including access, check-in, security, airport facilities, food and beverages, and retail. All participating airports use the same survey questions, creating an industry standard set of responses that allows participants to track and analyze their performance, as well as benchmark results against airports across the globe.
