Clarissa Molina wins Univision beauty reality show
The Dominican representative at the Nuestra Belleza Latina VIP Univision beauty reality show, Clarissa Molina landed the crown on Sunday, 22 May 2016 in Miami. She competed in this year's VIP version of the beauty reality show, which featured the non-winning finalists of previous years. This year's runners-up were Mexican-Iranian Setareh Khatibi and Catherine Castro from Puerto Rico.
Molina is the second Dominican to have won the reality show. She received 53% of the votes to 30% and was crowned by fellow Dominican Francisca Lachapelle, winner of the 2015 show. Molina's win means that the Dominican Republic is the first nation to obtain crowns in two consecutive years.
The beauty show prizes are said to be worth more than US$200,000, including a vehicle and a one-year contract with Univision, the leading regional Hispanic TV channel.
24-year old Molina represented the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe pageant in 2015 finishing in the top 10.
