The Ministry of Public Health’s Epidemiology Department Coronavirus Bulletin #297 reports 1,459 new PCR cases for the Saturday, 9 January 2021 deadline. The 7-day nationwide average for PCR confirmed cases is 1,253, up from the previous 7-day average of 938.
Labs carried out 4,933 first tests, more than the 14-day average that is a low 3,705. The country can process 10,000 PCR tests a day.
The 4-week positivity rate is 19.62%, continuing the upward trend. The 24-hour positivity for the day is 29.58%. The number of reported active cases is now 41,600, up from the previous day.
Three new deaths are reported for the Saturday, 9 January 2021 deadline, one occurring in the previous 24 hours of the deadline.
