President Luis Abinader announced the new Office for the Development of Urban and Interurban Mobility Projects. The new government entity is in charge of designing, building and developing urban and interurban mass transportation projects, among other roles related to transport.

The Office for the Development of Urban and Interurban Mobility Projects is a division of the Ministry of the Presidency.

The Presidency created the division with Decree 389-21, dated 18 June 2021. The decree had not been released to the general public until 27 July 2021.

The decree says the new office will design, build and develop urban and interurban mass transport projects. It will design, build and develop infrastructures associated to these projects.
