Santiago judge Iris Borges postponed the arraignment and preventive custody hearing for first cases in the Operation Falcon drug trafficking and money laundering scheme for a third time. The hearing was for around 23 people that are under arrest while others are under investigation in the case. The new hearing is set for Wednesday, 29 September 2021 at 10am.

The date for the hearing in the case against three members of the Chamber of Deputies that are charged by the state prosecution is yet to be set by the Supreme Court of Justice.

The case was postponed this time when the defense argued that the case should be in heard in the National District and not in Santiago. The case is being heard in Santiago because the Public Prosecutor’s Office determined that the headquarters of the criminal network was in that city.
