The Tigres del Licey, that barely made the cutoff for the round-robin now has 4 wins and one loss after a good weekend. The Licey leads in the round-robin series, followed by the Estrellas Orientales (3-2) that had won the regular series in the 2024-2025 Dominican Professional Baseball Winter League. The round-robin tournament is underway to choose the best two of four teams.

The Leones del Escogido (2-3) and the Aguilas Cibaeñas (1-4) lag behind but still have time to make the cutoff for the finals on Tuesday, 21 January 2025.

The Estrellas Orientales are managed by Fernando Tatis and the Escogido Lions by Albert Pujols in his debut with a professional team.

Expect a full house at the Quisqueya Ball Park on Tuesday, 7 January as the city teams, the Escogido and Tigres del Licey clash again.
